Another soul [get it?? Soul/Sole], collected all her receipts for the year in a shoebox and would dumpt the lot upon the accountant come tax time.
At various times, an empty shoebox in our family had been reused for diorama, letter and card storage and temporary housing for displaced critters found in the garden.
Today I received a shoebox as a gift from a friend. It was also recycled.
I start a new job tomorrow and I am both looking forward to it and nervous. I want to do a good job for the employers that have put their faith in me and given me this opportunity. My friend knew this and gave me the shoebox as a care package.
The shoebox was lined with purple crepe paper and inside a card filled with encouragement and best wishes. Inside also were delightful, colourful, handcrafted parcels, so wonderfully created I almost didn't want to open them. I delicately prised open each one. Simple little delights that gave me such appreciation. I felt such gratitude to be thought of, awe to have inspired such creativity and just a whole lot of love, from and for my darling friend for which my thankfulness would overflow a warehouse full of shoeboxes!
